Lonely pet parrots learned to video call each other. Researchers taught eighteen birds to ring a bell and tap a photo on a tablet. The parrots made over two hundred calls in two weeks. They sang, copied movements, and even learned new tricks from their screen friends. A cockatoo named Ellie and an African grey called Cookie still talk more than a year later. Video calls could improve life for isolated parrots.
